Waikākāriki Wetland Weed Whackers
A more recent Ngā Ururoa project, started in 2019, restoration of the Waikākāriki Wetlands (Sandersons Way). There are regular working groups on the second Sunday of the month, 9am – 12pm. Family friendly, if you can only make it for a short time that’s totally fine, drop by at any time. Call Andy McKay on 027 914 6598 for more information.
Tuesday Working Group
If you would like to be involved in our regular Tuesday working bees at the Paekākāriki end of the escarpment, please contact Peter Kentish by phoning 04 298 1255 or 021 027 70520 or emailing him.
Pukerua Bay Working Group
A working group at the Pukerua Bay end has been set up for weeding and getting planting sites ready for the winter planting season. They meet once a month on a Tuesday. If you would like to get involved, please contact Peter Kentish by phoning 04 298 1255 or 021 027 70520 or emailing him.
Trapping
Ngā Uruora traps and kills hundreds of predator species every year. We have an extensive trapping network, and we are always looking for more volunteers to help with checking and rebaiting these traps. For more information email Pete McLaughlin.
